CHALLENGE: NCB is a unique community bank whose identity is tied directlly to the culture of the people they serve. Their desire to develop a prototype facility to be rolled out throughout the surrounding Ohio suburban and rural areas needed to be true to their customer base, and at the same time exhibit their commitment to leading edge retail banking.
SOLUTION: Our efforts focused on a prototype for a facility using high tech materials juxtaposed with the human element so important to the bank's culture. Our high tech/high touch solution is a glass and steel open space with traditional masonry elements wrapped around an iconic cylindrical core element that draws upon the image of a silo as its precedent. This spacious branch is inviting to the surrounding community and the "silo" houses a conference room with a disappearing wall that allows it to openly connect to the main bank space and be used almost as a stage for the various charitable fundraisng events the bank has enjoined with the community at large.
